SOLAR PLUG is a great accessory to SOLAR STATION. You can pair your SOLAR STATION with your SOLAR PLUG by a simple press of a button. After the two have been paired, the plug will be turned on or off according to one of the rules you can set.
Don’t know what to control? Another great feature of the plug is its ability to measure power consumption. The plug can be easily connected in-between the socket and another appliance, such as washing machine or dryer, allowing you to monitor the current power consumption in real time.
The rules are fixed, and you can choose one of the following:
- The PV battery charge exceeds 90%
- The power flowing into the electrical network exceeds 500W
- The power flowing into the electrical network exceeds 2000W
- PV system exceeds power generation of 2kW
- Spot price of electricity - the cheapest hour of the day
- Spot price of electricity - the cheapest 3 hours of the day
- The spot price of electricity is negative.
- Manual; controlled by the button located on the plug
If a rule is broken, the plug turns off. In case of loss of connection with SOLAR STATION, the plug will turn off after 15 minutes too.
The plug is convenient because it doesn’t need active control from the user, as it can measure power consumption and use the fixed rules for operation. You can also easily gain insight into the power consumption of your dryer, washing machine, etc. SOLAR STATION shows the current power consumption of the appliance connected to the plug, as well as total power used since the plug was turned on.
The plug is a typical SHELLY WiFi PLUG, and its unique ID is registered in the system. Therefore, any other SHELLY plugs cannot be used.
SOLAR STATION can control up to 8 plugs concurrently.
The sum of the connected plugs’ power consumption is shown on the display of SOLAR STATION. It can be found by clicking on the button with the icon of a plug connected to the sun.
Be aware before you buy:
- The plug is rated up to 2500 W. Upon reaching higher than rated power throughput, the plug will automatically turn off. As a result, the plug is not viable for bigger appliances.
- SOLAR STATION and SOLAR PLUG are connected locally through your local Wi-Fi network. As a result, the SOLAR STATION must be installed at the same location as the SOLAR PLUG.
